The State Hall of the Presidential Palace witnessed a historical moment on 17 March 2009 when three presidents , President Mauno Koivisto, President Martti Ahtisaari and President of the Republic Tarja Halonen (photo above) discussed on Finland in the face of change.Presidential Forum
Since 2006, President of the Republic Tarja Halonen has arranged discussion forums at the Presidential Palace. Themes have included Finnish labour competitiveness, expertise and innovations, foreign policy, care for the elderly, the Baltic Sea, tolerance, municipal services, the "silent years" in Finnish history, Finland in the face of change, fundamental and human rights and jobs and unemployment.
