President Niinistö to attend the Olympic Games in London

President of the Republic Sauli Niinistö and Mrs Jenni Haukio will travel to London to attend the Olympic Games between 27 and 31 July 2012.

On Friday, 27 July the presidential couple will attend the opening ceremony at the Olympic Stadium as well as the preceding reception hosted by Queen Elizabeth at Buckingham Palace. During the first days of the Games President Niinistö will follow the performance of Finnish athletes in various sports and will also visit the athletes at the Olympic Village.

President Niinistö will also visit the Finnish Church in London to meet Finns living in the area as well as attend Finland’s Olympic reception.
